Game Dream Meaning

To interpret the dream you must consider its greater context and your emotional reactions in it. Some games are simply a form of entertainment from your unconscious. You may be having fun in your dream. This is not all that common, but it does happen from time to time. Other “game” dreams may represent the challenges in your life, your competitive nature, or your childishness. They may point out goals to be achieved or are a simple way to let out steam.

The game in your dream could also represent “the game of life.” This is not an original thought on my part, but it deserves attention and consideration.

If you are playing a strange game with people from your daily life, consider your interactions with them and the role that each individual plays.

If you dream you are betting your wealth on some game of chance, it means you hope chance will solve your problems. Finally, if you are just the spectator of a game—without participating—the image is a symptom that you are behaving indifferently to certain problems that concern you directly. According to the saying of an Indian guru, life is a dream and we should realize this. But it is also a game and it’s essential that we play our part.

To be engaged in a game represents that you have a playful attitude. Your dream may be giving you the message to engage and play wholeheartedly with the awareness that life is really a game, or to realize that you can only win at this game called life when you can be in the world but not of it. Alternatively, this dream may be showing you that you haven’t been taking your life seriously, and your frivolity has become a defense mechanism that stands in the way of your ability to live an authentic and powerful life.

If you’re playing and enjoying a game, then life will be good to you. But if you’re frustrated by it, expect a few setbacks.

Consider also the type of activity, the dynamics between you and the others, and how you felt about what was going on.
