(3) If some other person is chained, that person probably represents something in your unconscious. Perhaps it is a desire that has been repressed because of guilt-feelings attached to it.

If so, take a fresh - and this time an objective - look at it.

See it for what it is: a power that may be used by you to enrich your life, but not one that you have to employ. You don’t owe any of your emotions a living. But don’t neglect them. Don’t shut them away in vour unconscious, where they could fester. Either use them or dissolve them.

If you dream that you are chained, however, it means that an internal aspect of yourself is being retained. You must set it free so it can express itself.

If it is someone else who is chained, then you have to find out what aspect of the character that person represents. Similarly, if it is an animal, you have to ask yourself what aspect of your nature you are repressing.

If it is a bull it might be your sexuality; if a dog, it may be your fury; and if it is an elephant it shows your inability to use your strength and wisdom.
