1- A puddle, being a smaller amount of liquid than either a pool or lake, can nevertheless have the same significance. When one appears in a dream we arc becoming aware of our emotions and the wav we handle them.
2- How we deal with the puddle may be important.
If we mop it up, we are trying to re-absorb emotion that we may feel to be inappropriate.
If we leave it, we probably need other people to recognise either our, or their, emotions.
3- Esoterically, a puddle can be used for scrying that is, looking into the future as though into a magic mirror.
