Island dream meaning is explained below using 29 different sources. Each interpretation is shown with its source.
Interpretation 1 — Martha Clarke
If you are isolated on the island, you should try to analyze your feelings from other perspectives, since everything indicates that you don’t count on others when making decisions. Keeping in mind that the ocean symbolizes the unconscious mind, the island can signify the desire to stay safe in the conscious Self rather than wanting to investigate your interior. The sea, according to Freud’s studies, also symbolizes the mother figure. This dream, therefore, could be showing your maternal-filial relationship.
If the island is swallowed by water, it may mean that you feel pressured by an overly strict mother or by the lack of control of your unconscious forces. (See ARMOR, CASTILLE, ABANDONMENT, WATER and HERMIT)
In respect to this dream, oracles predict comfort and favorable circumstances.
