Interpretation 3 — Eric Ackroyd

Like any other form of execution, beheading may symbolize punishment. We often punish ourselves, unconsciously, as a result of guilt-feelings connected with some traumatic experience in childhood or early adulthood. The dream, therefore, may be showing you a negative pattern in your life that needs to be dealt with.

(2) Alternatively, beheading may signify a need to get free of a too dominating head: you may have been relying too exclusively on intellect - in w hich case, you need to give more room in your life to instinct.
